What is Tailwind? That was my first question when I started reading about it. Tailwind is a scheduler for your Pinterest pins. It’s plain and simple as that.
I use it solely to pin content in Pinterest and to schedule the pins throughout the day. It also has a Google Chrome extension that you can use, which makes it even easier to schedule pins.
Tribes are group boards within Tailwind. Not only can you pin to your Pinterest account, but you can also pin to each Tribe you’re in. From there, people in your Tribe will also share your pins to Pinterest. BAM! That’s double the visibility to your pins! Who WOULDN’T want that??!!
The Tribe will also track your shares, repins and your Pinterest reach.
The best part of Tribes is that it is free, and you do not have to have a paid Tailwind account to use this feature. Click on my special link, to try Tailwind for free.
Yep… you read that right. You can use Tailwind for free. While I do suggest getting the full (paid) version, you may also use it for FREE.
The free version lets you pin 100 pins and they will schedule them four times a day! Say what?!?!?
I used the free trial and I thought it was great! All I had to do was find pins, schedule them and I am done. Within my first week I had new people following my Pinterest boards and sharing my Pins!
WOW! I was so impressed that I signed up for the full paid version of Tailwind. I did this so I could utilize Tailwind to its full potential – to be able to pin unlimited.
If you came here from Pinterest, this is an example that it works!

The scheduler on Tailwind is super easy to use. You can use the browser extension in Chrome or go through Pinterest to schedule the content. I started out sharing more of other people’s content as I was just starting out myself and only had one article that was posted. After using it a while, I started thinking that it was NOT for me. Hah! Boy… was I ever wrong!
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED….
Did you know that you CAN make several pinnable images for EACH blog post?? I did not know that either… but YOU CAN!
Don’t worry about re-pinning to the same board either – everyone (I mean EVERYONE) is doing it!
When creating multiple images for the same post, try to:
- Use different photos
- Use different fonts
- Use a different graphic template
This will help you reach more people with the same post, AND make it look like you are creating more content! Awesome!!
Tailwind allows you to be part of five boards to start out with. You get to choose which board you want to be a part of. Once your access is approved, you can then pin to your Tailwind tribes.
You can easily pin to the boards by selecting the Add to Tribes button as seen here.
Not only do I add the pin to my Tribes, but I also add to my Pinterest boards. This makes filling up your Tailwind queue a lot faster and easier. YESSS!!
Did I mention that my pins will be getting double the visibility???
As I mentioned in my previous article, Pinterest is a great search engine that can drive traffic to your blog. Pinterest loves members who pin constantly, it is how their site keeps going. You will need to be pinning content in your niche at least 50 to 100 times a day.
Who has time for that?!?!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Pinterest as much as you do – but I simply do not have the time to pin that much every day!
This is where Tailwind comes in. Using tailwind, you can schedule pins to be shared throughout the day, making sure your profile has a constant pinning activity.
